Bhojpur DM Birendra Prasad Yadav on February 15, 2017, suspended the District Welfare Officer (DWO), Bhojpur, Vijay Kumar Tiwary, Principal, Government Ambedkar Residential Girls High School (GARGHS), Ara, Gautam Kumar and Hostel Superintendent, GARGHS, Suryakant Singh for their laxity and dereliction of duty. DM forwarded the matter to the Secretary, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department for departmental proceeding and requested him to appoint capable DWO, Principal and the Hostel Superintendent in their place in Bhojpur district. Nitu Kumari, a class X student of GARGHS, Ara, daughter of Jiut Ram of Chaptahi village under Dhansoi police station in Buxar district, had died under mysterious circumstances on February 11, 2017. She was suffering from some problems for four days and was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital on February 9, 2017.
